Functional Medicine identifies and addresses the root causes of disease to promote long-term wellness, rather than simply alleviating symptoms. Treatments are based on a systems based approach that works to integrate and restore the natural, healthy function of all of your body's systems.

This model of care was developed because although the modern medical system is often excellent for acute conditions, people are more frequently unable to find solutions for their chronic conditions. Chronic conditions include, but are not limited to one or more of the following: digestive and metabolic conditions, hormone and endocrine imbalances (thyroid, adrenal, testes/ovaries, pancreas, etc.), neurological conditions, immune and inflammation mediated conditions, and mental/emotional conditions...

Evaluation and diagnosis are based on lab evaluations of blood chemistry, urinalysis, the hormone and endocrine systems, the gut biome, a full health history and systems review, and a comprehensive metabolic assessment based on review of symptoms and clinical presentations.

Treatment plans are individualized because each individual has a unique set of health and wellness needs. Treatments may include any or all of the following: a nutritional plan/modification, modern supplements, traditional natural medicines, and recommendations for lifestyle changes. Some patients may be encouraged to include acupuncture or cranio-sacral therapy as well.

Using a soft touch which is generally no greater than 5 grams - about the weight of a nickel - practitioners release restrictions in the soft tissues that surround the central nervous system. CST is increasingly used as a preventive health measure for its ability to bolster resistance to disease, and it's effective for a wide range of medical problems associated with pain and dysfunction."
